  • ALPHABET



    The alphabet is a collection of letters we use to make words and write sentences. The English alphabet has 26 letters, and each letter has two forms: a big one called uppercase and a small one called lowercase.

    ¡Let’s learn them all!

     

     


    Uppercase Letters:

    These are the big letters we use in the alphabet. Uppercase letters are also called capital letters. We use them at the beginning of sentences, names, and special words.

    Why do we use uppercase letters?

    1. Starting Sentences: Every time we start a new sentence, we use an uppercase letter. For example:

      • The cat is sleeping.


    A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z


     

     


    Lowercase Letters:

    These are the small letters we use in the alphabet. Lowercase letters are used most of the time when we write words, sentences, and stories.

    Why do we use lowercase letters?

    1. Writing Words: Most of the letters in words are lowercase. For example:

      • cat, dog, apple

    a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, z


     

     


    Learning the Alphabet:

    1. A a - "A" is for Apple.
    2. B b - "B" is for Ball
    3. C c - "C" is for Cat.
    4. D d - "D" is for Dog.
    5. E e - "E" is for Elephant.
    6. F f - "F" is for Fish.
    7. G g - "G" is for Grapes.
    8. H h - "H" is for Hat.
    9. I i - "I" is for Ice Cream.
    10. J j - "J" is for Jelly.
    11. K k - "K" is for Kite.
    12. L l - "L" is for Lion.
    13. M m - "M" is for Monkey.
    14. N n - "N" is for Nose.
    15. O o - "O" is for Orange.
    16. P p - "P" is for Pig.
    17. Q q - "Q" is for Queen.
    18. R r - "R" is for Rabbit.
    19. S s - "S" is for Sun.
    20. T t - "T" is for Tiger.
    21. U u - "U" is for Umbrella.
    22. V v - "V" is for Violin.
